SPORTING NEWS:

May 2015 - We are the champions of the
2015 Wakefield Catholic Schools' Football Tournament!

The annual event took place on Saturday 16th May at Holy Family & St Michael's, Pontefract and involved all 10 Wakefield Partnership and BKCAT (Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust) schools.

For the first time, in the tournaments history, St Joseph's were the 2015 winners, after successfully winning or drawing in all of their 6 matches; not one goal was conceded!!! The final took place between St Joseph's and St Benedict's, Garforth, who had held onto the title for the past three years.

Year 4 attended the partnership Skipping Competition at St Wilfrid's and after lots of fierce challenges, St Joseph's, Moorthorpe were declared the WINNERS!!!

Over the autumn and spring term, we were very lucky to take part in the
FA Skills programme.

The FA Skills Programme works in over 1,000 primary schools a year, providing specialist football skills coaching for children and their teachers. The coaches provide specialist, age appropriate coaching for all ages from Years 1 to 6. The Programme’s revolutionary approach to coaching football skills is truly child-centred, is for all ability levels, and focuses on individual boys’ and girls' learning needs.
